Czy kiedykolwiek ogladaliscie film, w ktorym bylo pokazana amerykanskie wesele? Druhny, druzbowie i pan mlody czekajacy na swoja wybranke przy oltarzu, panna mloda prowadzona do oltarza przez swojego ojca, potem impreza z przemowieniami, toastami i pierwszym tancem po wszystkich przemowieniach? Wlasciwie to tak wyglada rowniez australijska wersja wesela ;-) 15 grudnia uczestniczylam w weselu Simona i Marie-Rose: zabawa swietna, choc krotka w porownianiu do polskich wesel (23.30 - koniec wesela), niesamowite miejsce (klub golfowy z zadziwiajaca iloscia kangurow wokol) i pyszne jedzenie - jak dla mnie rewelacja :-)
P.S. Polski akcent - powitanie pary mlodej chlebem, sola i ... wodka ;-)
School, school, school but eventually the weekend came. Some time to relax (though not too much, as "surprisingly enough" there was another assignment to be handed in on Monday) and to experience some local culture - wedding! - the Aussie style ;-)
Have you ever seen a film with an American wedding in it? Bridesmaids, best men, the groom waiting for his loved one at the altar, the bride given away to the groom by her father, a reception with speeches, toasts and the first dance of the bride and groom after all the speeches have been made? Well, generally speaking that's the way an Australian wedding looks like. On 15th December I took part in Simon and Marie-Rose's wedding: great fun, though the reception seemed a bit short in comparison to Polish weddings (11.30 p.m. - the end), amazing place (golf club with a surprising number of kangaroos around) and tasty food - what else do you need?
P.S. Polish accent - greeting the bride and the groom with bread, salt and ... vodka ;-)
